These Lenten Bible studies will walk you step by step through the major events of the passion. You will sit with Jesus in the upper room as Jesus transforms the Passover into the Last Supper. You will walk with Jesus to Gethsemane and through the trials to hear His prayer and see His resolute obedience to the Father. You will experience His suffering on the cross and learn what His sacrifice means for you. Walk with Him through these hours and learn from Him. See His compassion and dedication for you first hand. This booklet is to be shared with friends and neighbors. If they are near, encourage them to come and join the discussions on Wednesday nights. We will have simple food at 6:30 and discussion at tables beginning at 7 PM. Each lesson has some structured questions that we will work through and some “For deep discussion” questions that have no correct answers. To download the Leader's guide with the answers, click here. ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Rev. Mark Etter has been a pastor for over thirty years and is currently the pastor of a Bethany Lutheran Church in Northern Kentucky. He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri with a Master of Divinity degree and from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. Mark has published several books of Adult Bible studies and numerous devotions and youth studies with Concordia Publishing House in St. Louis. He has served the greater church as a pastoral coach, evangelism chairman, and circuit counselor. He is married to Joan and they have three grown children who live in Kentucky and Indiana.
In His spare time, he loves to go camping across the United States so that he can enjoy the national and state parks and learn from the many historic sites of our nation. He still uses his musical training as he leads the praise team at his church and sings in the choir. His life goal is to create a series of 32 day devotions that will open sections of the scripture to others so people can be closer to Christ by the power of the stories and teachings of the Bible. He enjoys seeing people discover how great our God really is so that they can love God and live in God’s blessings. He would love to hear how this devotion helped you or hear any suggestions for future books. Feel free to contact Mark by email at email@example.com or with the contact box below.
